The prime mission of the committee is to uphold our culture away from India and celebrate the Hindu religious festivals that are quintessential and a major part of the tradition. Another mission is to promote the culture in the faraway land and allow cultural exchange between the ethnic population and the Bengalis settling in the UK by organizing cultural events every year during Bengali New Year. The cultural events are a platform for youngsters and local talents to perform in front of a large audience. It has also been a platform for well known Indian artists to come over and perform here such as the likes of Manoj Mitra / Dipankar De who have performed in the past.
We are an Indian community primarily consisting of Bengalis around Yorkshire. We celebrate Durga pujo, Lakshmi pujo, Kali pujo, Saraswati pujo and Nababarsho. We welcome everybody to join us in our celebrations.
Propagation of our culture and heritage to the future generation.
Sharing knowledge of the religious roots of the autumn & spring festivals.
Bringing together family & friends from all backgrounds, working in unity to celebrate and enjoy the festivities.
